School Readiness Checklist

Oh hello, I'm Laura - aka Lipsy Loo!

Laura Green Lipsy Loo Learning

During my 10 years of working as a Speech Pathologist in both public and private schools as well as private practice, I noticed two things consistently.

Firstly, I was seeing an increase in the number of children with literacy and language delays. There was a lack of targeted literacy and language programs in the preschool and early school years as well as a lack of teacher knowledge of how to support students who were falling behind in these areas.

Secondly, parents were desperate for strategies on how to best promote these skills at home. Head of speech and language at the Murdoch Childrenā€™s Research Institute, Professor Angela Morgan, discusses this crisis in this informative article.

In response to this issue, I created language and literacy programs to beĀ implemented acrossĀ early childhood settings.

I realised that in order to keep the kids engaged, the programs had to be playful, fun-filled and interactive.

As a result of the success of these programs, I was inspired to bring this type of learning to larger audiences, including with parents and caregivers at home. And so - Lipsy Loo Learning was born.
